This sweet little ceramic dish in the form of an elderly lady is from mid-century Japan. It may have been intended for small pieces of jewelry but it could also be used as a mini ashtray or something. It’s small – around 3.5″ long and 2″ wide. See last photo and note the size of the coins for comparison. It’s in good condition with good color and no major chips or cracks.
