This is the second of these sweet little Betty Boop heart-shaped ceramic boxes from our collection. It was made in Japan in the early ’80s. This one is in ok condition for its age, but does have some very small bits of paint loss and minor signs of wear. There is some paint loss, mainly on the right side of the black area of her hair and also a couple “flea bite” chips – one on her nose and one near the left ear. There is very light surface crazing which is typical of old ceramics.
At the tallest point, it’s about 5″ and the box part is about 3.5″ wide. The box part could hold a handful of small things such as jewelry, medication, etc. (trinkets and expired condom in picture shown just for scale).
