This incredible hand-crafted picture frame features Betty Boop character holding an umbrella. Almost all of the color, except for her face and garter, is made simply from combining various shades of hardwood. We’ve come across a few of these woodcraft Betty Boop objects over the years but are not sure of the year of make or origin. Maybe about 35 years old? It measures about 9″ at the tallest point, 8″ or so at the widest. The picture frame opening is about 4″ wide and 5″ tall.

Please be aware that, as this is a hand-crafted vintage item, there are numerous “imperfections.” There are some minor chips in the wood in the back, not visible from the front. There are also a few areas, mostly in back, where the wood veneer has slightly warped. The picture frame cover is made from plastic acetate which has slightly yellowed and warped with age. You could probably flatten it and use as-is or replace it with a new piece.
This item is a rare piece of folk art and the imperfections are typical to this type of thing. It is sold as-is.
